• “Heesen Yachts have used MarineModelMakers to construct models of our Shipyard and also of our superyachts ranging in size from 40m to 55m as both full hull and waterline models.
We have found MarineModelMakers to be efficient, reliable, cost effective, able to work within tight deadlines and some of them with minimal information.
Their models are highly detailed and accurate in all aspects and function very well as display specimens at the many boat shows and exhibitions in which we participate.”

Linda van Herpen, Personal Assistant to Director Sales and Marketing—HEESEN YACHTS

  • "Ger Crowley is an excellent marine modelmaker with an innovative and appropriate use of modern materials to best display vessels at the chosen scale.
As a keen yachtsman, he also brings to his craft an appreciation of a yacht’s style and function"

    Hal Sisk, Yachting Historian

  • “The yacht models constructed by Ger Crowley MarineModelMakers have been an important part of the dream to restore and operate the fleet of Dublin Bay24s in the South of France. Firstly, 5 superb half-hull models were made, mounted on a specially screen-printed blue base to set off the beautiful hull lines. These were presented to the local dignitaries in the Alpes Maritime to hold onto the parking berths granted in 2007 and promote the project.
As the specification for the design neared finalisation, Ger Crowley produced a superbly detailed 1:24 physical model complete with rigging. While virtual reality computer modelling had been used previously, nothing beats the real reality of a perfectly detailed model to appreciate the cockpit design and deck layout. It was instrumental in fully appreciating the original design by Alfred Mylne, never realised as different coach houses were constructed for the actual yachts.
No doubt this is how designs were demonstrated back in the halcyon days of wooden racing yacht building.
Ger’s models are made to such perfection it is possible to imagine sitting in the cockpit, working the deck and actually sailing them, in miniature!”

Chris Craig, Gerant, Villefranche Classic Sailing

  • “MarineModelMakers and Crowley Modelmakers have made many fine models for our Museum and Visitor centre.
These are models of the various vessels that have operated in the Shannon Estuary all at the common scale of 1:50, 2 wonderful rigged yacht models at 1:32 scale of the boats constructed by Conor O’Brien in the 1920’s and topographical models of the Shannon Estuary and of Foynes Island.
The models are a true and very realistic depiction of the vessels they represent and have been much admired.
We are very happy with the service offered by both MarineModelMakers and their sister company Crowley Modelmakers and found them to be very thorough in the delivery of their service.”

Margaret O’Shaughnessy, Managing Director, Foynes Flying Boat Museum”

  • “I wish to say that I have known Gerard Crowley of MarineModelMakers for many years since I was his manager in Irish Shipping Ltd. He made magnificent ship models for that company based on the relevant ship’s plans. Since I started my own company he has made accurate models for us which we use as teaching aids.
His work is extremely detailed and very accurate.
    I would highly recommend him.”
